Description

Pure tin with at least 99.9% purity, 1 kg divided into bars of approx. 200 g each. The bars are lead-free and suitable as a base for tin figures and everyday objects, as well as for creating your own tin alloys. Pure tin was among the first metals we sold in 2017 and remains one of our best-selling items to this day.

Bars, pellets, or granules?

Bars cannot be dosed as finely as pellets, but they look more authentic. If you want to weigh precisely, use pure tin pellets or pure tin granules. For tin figures, we recommend Sn98Sb2 (listed in the shop as SnSb2) or Sn95Sb3Cu2 (listed in the shop as SnSb3Cu2), which are stronger due to the antimony and copper content. Use pure tin for a higher-quality surface finish when strength is not a priority. All forms can be found under Tin.

Tinning and soldering

Pure tin is also suitable for tinning surfaces. For tinning and soldering points on copper and copper alloys, we recommend a suitable soldering flux.
