Description

SnPb40 Tin-Lead Eutectic

Composition: 60% Tin and 40% Lead
Form: Triangular bars of approx. 250 g/pc.
Density: 8.51 g/cm³
Melting range: 183-190 °C

Sn60Pb40 is a slightly hypereutectic composition of tin and lead. This results in a narrow melting range of 7 K (183–190 °C). Due to its low melting point and narrow melting range, it is well suited for soft soldering sheets or other parts made of copper alloys (brass, bronze, etc.), ferrous materials (e.g., steel), or nickel.

As the alloy is lead-containing, it may only be sold to commercial and institutional customers.

Depending on requirements, SnPb40 can be replaced by alternatives such as tin-copper, tin-silver, or tin-silver-copper alloys.

The bars have dimensions of approx. 400x14x10mm. These may vary, which is why the price is calculated per gram, not per bar. For order quantities of 250g or more, whole bars are supplied; otherwise, parts of bars.
