Graphite is highly heat resistant. You can easily cast low-melting (e.g., tin, lead, aluminum, etc.) as well as higher-melting metals and alloys (e.g., copper/bronze/brass, gold/silver, cast iron, etc.) into the molds.
The small grooves between the cavities and the edge are due to manufacturing. However, they do not hinder casting because the surface tension of the metals and alloys is too high for them to flow through.
When casting with higher- or even high-melting metals and alloys, ensure that the mold is preheated accordingly to avoid any water residues and extend the mold’s durability.
