Pastin 100 tinning paste enables fast and clean tinning of surfaces made of copper, copper alloys or steel. Pastin 100 is relatively universally applicable, but there are optimized pastes for certain areas, as listed below.

Before application, the paste should be briefly stirred or shaken again. Then the paste can be applied to the surface to be tinned with a brush. The paste is then carefully heated with a flame until liquid pure tin drops and hydrochloric acid, which ideally prepares the surface locally for tinning, form on the surface. The pure tin drops must be quickly spread with a lint-free cloth. The surface is then tinned. Only spread the tin when the paste has completely reacted. For a solder joint or if a relatively high layer thickness is desired, it can be re-tinned with pure tin or a suitable alloy. The acid produced during the reaction is corrosive and must be rinsed off with water or pickling solution shortly after the tinning/soldering process.

Surfaces that are prepared with pre-tinning pastes can be soldered very well and cleanly.

A frequent application is in the area of copper dish tinning. There, tinning can be done entirely with Pastin 100 or, if desired, re-tinned with pure tin Sn99.9 and a suitable soldering water (Z-02).

In the bodywork area, Pastin 803, which is optimized for lead-free solders, and Pastin 40 should be used for lead-containing solders.

The Pastin 830 is ideally suited for soldering or tinning with tin-silver solders.

During processing, effective extraction / fresh air supply, e.g. by ventilation, must be ensured due to the soldering fumes.

Pastin 100 is available in an attractive combination with triangular bars made of Sn99.9 (pure tin), or SnCu3.
