Z-02 soldering flux is ideally suited for preparing surfaces made of copper or copper alloys for soldering or tinning. The soldering flux removes minor impurities and dissolves oxide layers that would cause insufficiently strong solder joints during soldering. The use of soldering flux is therefore almost essential to ensure good solder joint quality. The soldering flux has a corrosive effect and must be rinsed off promptly with water or mordant after the soldering process.

In principle, the soldering flux can be used wherever tin alloys are to be soldered or tinned on surfaces made of copper or copper alloys. In addition, it can also be used in the field of leaded glass.

During processing, effective extraction or fresh air supply, e.g. by ventilation, must be ensured due to the soldering fumes.

You can get the Z-02 soldering flux in an attractive combination with triangular bars made of Sn99.9 (pure tin), SnCu0.7 or SnCu3.

The combination with pure tin (Sn99.9) makes sense, for example, if you want to tin copper pots or similar surfaces.
SnCu0.7 is well suited as an electrical solder, e.g. for dip soldering.
SnCu3 is a popular plumbing solder and is used, among other things, for soldering copper pipes.

Z-02 is not suitable for use on zinc sheets with the Dachdeckerlote SnZn9 and SnZn15; it is best to use Z-04 there.
In the field of body tinning, we also recommend that you use PASTIN 803 pre-tinning paste instead.
