Material: AlMgSi0.5 (EN AW-6060)
Composition: approx. 98.9% aluminum; approx. 0.6% magnesium and approx. 0.5% silicon
Piece dimensions: 6 to 50 mm cross-section and up to approx. 100 mm long
Melting temperature: 655 °C (liquidus temperature)
Casting temperature: 700-800°C
Density: 2.7 g/cm³

These are clean offcuts from AlMgSi0.5 profiles, packaged in bags from 1 kg weight. The material is clean and free from contamination.

AlMgSi0.5 is a common wrought aluminum alloy and rather unsuitable for castings. It can be alloyed with silicon or copper to create casting alloys.
We offer common aluminum casting alloys in convenient ingots and larger pigs.

The molding sand available in our shops is very well suited as molding material for aluminum casting.
