Ms63 is a common brass alloy with 37% zinc and 63% copper content. It is often used to manufacture brass hollow profiles. Unlike Ms58, it is lead-free. It casts well and can be hot-formed well.
An alternative alloy to Ms63 that is also lead-free is Ecobrass CuZn21Si3P (CW724R).
When casting zinc-containing alloys, please note that from a temperature of 907 °C, zinc begins to evaporate from the melt. To prevent the zinc content from dropping significantly, it should be brought quickly to casting temperature (950–1000 °C) and poured.
The moulding sand available in our shops is very well suited as moulding material for brass casting.
