Cadmium is a metal with a relatively low melting point. It can be used to produce low-melting alloys. Wood’s metal contains 12.5% cadmium and has a melting point of approx. 60°C.
Unfortunately, the processing of cadmium must be handled with caution. Cadmium is similarly “toxic” to lead and should be processed with caution.
