Eutectic Bismuth-Tin Alloy BiSn42
Composition: 58% Bismuth, 42% Tin
Form: Pellets
Melting Point: 138°C
Density: 8.74 g/cm³
This offer includes the eutectic bismuth-tin alloy in pellets, approx. 25g per piece.
It is commonly used as a substitute for lead-containing Rose’s metal. It is an ideal lead-free alternative, as it possesses nearly identical properties to Rose’s metal (25% lead content).
The alloy can be used for reliable casting of small parts. Due to its low melting point of 138°C, premature solidification of the alloy is prevented, and molds can be poured more effectively. Its casting properties are therefore very good. It is important to note the alloy’s low cold formability, which is due to its high brittleness.
