Eutectic Bismuth-Tin Alloy BiSn42
Composition: 58% Bismuth, 42% Tin
Form: fine granules
Melting point: 138°C
Density: 8.74 g/cm³
This offer includes the eutectic bismuth-tin alloy in fine granules.
It is commonly used as a substitute for lead-containing Rose’s metal. It is an ideal lead-free alternative, as it possesses nearly the same properties as Rose’s metal (25% lead content).
The alloy can be used for reliable casting of small parts. Due to its low melting point of 138°C, premature cooling of the alloy is prevented, and molds can be filled more effectively. Its casting properties are therefore very good. It should be noted that the alloy has low cold formability, which is due to its high brittleness.
