Eutectic Bismuth-Tin Alloy BiSn42
Composition: 58% Bismuth, 42% Tin
Form: Pellets
Melting Point: 138°C
Density: 8.74 g/cm³
This offer contains the eutectic alloy of bismuth and tin in pellets with an approximate unit weight of 25 g.
This is frequently used as a substitute for lead-containing Rose’s metal. It is an ideal lead-free alternative, as it has almost the same properties as Rose’s metal (25% lead content).
The alloy can be used for reliable casting of small parts. Due to the low melting point of 138°C, the alloy is prevented from solidifying too quickly, and molds can be poured better. Its casting properties are therefore very good. It is important to note the alloy’s low cold formability, which is due to its high brittleness.
