Rg7 is frequently used as a plain bearing material in mechanical engineering. It is characterized by good emergency running properties, high corrosion resistance (including in seawater), and good wear resistance.<br \/>\nThe pieces are very easy to melt down and cast. For ideal casting behavior, we recommend pouring the alloy at 1100\u20131150\u00b0C and adding slag binder for copper-based alloys to the melt beforehand.<br \/>\nFor technical reasons, the alloy contains up to 7% lead. This does not hinder the casting process and ensures better machinability. If you prefer a lead-free cast bronze, you can also purchase CuSn8 ingots in our shops. If you add a further 4\u20137% tin and, if necessary, zinc to this, you will obtain a similar but lead-free alloy with very good casting properties.<br \/>\nThe surface of the ingots is not polished and is therefore somewhat matte.
