It is characterized by its good corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It essentially has the same properties as the material CuSn12-C (CC483K), but this alloy is lead-free. Lead improves machinability in copper alloys. If excellent machinability is important to you, we recommend opting for our CuSn12-C in 250 g bars instead.<br \/>\nThe bars are very easy to melt and cast. For ideal casting behavior, we recommend pouring the alloy at 1050\u20131100\u00b0C and adding slag binder for copper-based alloys to the melt beforehand.<br \/>\nAs an alternative to the 1 kg CuSn12 bars, we also offer CuSn8 as lead-free bronze in smaller, 250 g bars. If you add an additional 4\u20137% tin to this, you will obtain a similar, also lead-free alloy with very good casting properties.<br \/>\nThe surface of the bars is not polished and therefore appears somewhat duller.
