Bronze Casting Mold Casting Casting Lead-Free

Bronze bars made of CuSn12, weighing 1kg each

Material: CuSn12 (Lead-free)
Dimensions: approx. 103x39x31 mm
Weight per piece: 1 kg
Melting temperature: approx. 1000 °C (liquidus temperature)
Casting temperature: 1050-1100 °C
Density: 8.72 g/cm³

CuSn12 is a common bronze casting alloy. It is characterized by its good corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It essentially has the same properties as the material CuSn12-C (CC483K), but this alloy is lead-free. Lead improves machinability in copper alloys. If excellent machinability is important to you, we recommend opting for our CuSn12-C in 250 g bars instead.
The bars are very easy to melt and cast. For ideal casting behavior, we recommend pouring the alloy at 1050–1100°C and adding slag binder for copper-based alloys to the melt beforehand.
As an alternative to the 1 kg CuSn12 bars, we also offer CuSn8 as lead-free bronze in smaller, 250 g bars. If you add an additional 4–7% tin to this, you will obtain a similar, also lead-free alloy with very good casting properties.
The surface of the bars is not polished and therefore appears somewhat duller. Nevertheless, the material is clean and free from impurities.

The molding sand available in our shops is very well suited as a molding material for bronze castings.

Aluminum Bronze Ingots made of CuAl10Ni5Fe4 (CW307G) weighing 250g per piece

Material: CuAl10Ni5Fe4 (CW307G)
Weight per Ingot: 250 g
Dimensions: approx. 73x30x15mm
Melting Temperature: approx. 1080°C (Liquidus Temperature)
Casting Temperature: 1150-1200°C
Density: 7.6 g/cm³

CuAl10Ni5Fe4 is a common aluminum bronze alloy. Aluminum bronzes are frequently used in areas where good corrosion resistance, especially against seawater, is an important prerequisite. Ship propellers, but also structural components for chemical plants, are classic examples of applications.
The pieces are very easy to melt and cast. For ideal casting behavior, we recommend pouring the alloy at 1150-1200°C and adding slag binder for copper-based alloys to the melt beforehand.
The surface of the ingots is not polished and therefore somewhat duller. Nevertheless, the material is clean and free of impurities.
The molding sand available in our shops is very well suited as a molding material for bronze castings.

CW453K CuSn8 Ingots Copper Casting Mold Casting

CuSn8 Bronze Ingots with 250g unit weight

Material: CuSn8 (CW453K)
Weight per ingot: 250 g
Dimensions: approx. 64x30x15 mm
Melting temperature: approx. 1040°C (liquidus temperature)
Casting temperature: 1100-1150°C
Density: 8.79 g/cm³

CuSn8 is a lead-free tin bronze with moderate casting properties. It is primarily characterized by its good hot and cold formability. However, you can add 4-7% tin to obtain a lead-free cast bronze with ideal casting properties. This would be a lucrative alternative to CuSn12-C, which contains up to 3% lead for technical reasons.
For ideal casting behavior, we recommend casting the alloy at 1100-1150°C and adding slag binder for copper-based alloys to the melt beforehand.
The surface of the ingots is not polished and therefore somewhat duller. Nevertheless, the material is clean and free of impurities.
The molding sand available in our shops is very well suited as a molding material for bronze castings.

Bronze Ingots made of CuSn12-C, weighing 250g per piece

Melting temperature: approx. 1000°C (Liquidus temperature)
Casting temperature: 1050-1100°C
Density: 8.72 g/cm³

CuSn12-C is a common bronze casting alloy. It is characterized by its good corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
The pieces can be melted down and cast very easily. For ideal casting behavior, we recommend pouring the alloy at 1050-1100°C and adding slag binder for copper-based alloys to the melt beforehand.
For technical reasons, the alloy contains up to 3% lead. This does not impede the casting process and provides better machinability. If you prefer a lead-free casting bronze, you can also purchase CuSn8 ingots in our shops. If you add another 4-7% tin to this, you will obtain a similar but lead-free alloy with very good casting properties.
The surface of the ingots is not polished and therefore somewhat matte. The material is nevertheless clean and free from impurities.
The molding sand available in our shops is very well suited as a molding material for bronze castings.
